Elder: Loren Johnson
I was born and raised in Dodson, MT. I went to school in Dodson as well for 12 years graduating in 1971. After which I went to college in Havre for two years. My wife Cathy and I were married on June 30,1973. At that time I worked at Malta Mercantile as a mechanic. In 1976 I went to work for Malta Auto Company as a mechanic moving into parts a year later. I worked there until January of 1999 at which time I was employed by Ezzies Wholesale until retiring in 2018.
I enjoy reading and yard work. The best part of yard work is after 43 years of answering phones there is not one in my garden. Cathy and I have two daughters. The oldest Danette is married to Daren Anderson with a 15 year old son Darden. Our youngest daughter Stacie is married to Nathan Hould. And they have three children - Holdyn who is 30, Gabby who is 26 and Chase 19. I came to know the Lord in 1976 at a Baptist evangelistic service at the old high school in Malta. I did not get a good grip on salvation at the time as I was convinced that my prayer was what had saved me. When actuality we get saved by our faith in Christ and His paying the penalty for our sin on the cross. We cannot do anything to make us worthy of this or to do it ourselves as in Ephesians 2:8, God tells us we are saved by grace alone not by our works but by God's gift to us. Since I have taught home bible studies as well as adult Sunday school classes. Both of which I enjoy doing with God's help. I have been an Elder at Community Church for a number of years. I have been blessed in this position working with many Godly men. |
